 F.A.Q's

Physiotherapist Dee Why

This is where you will find all the answers to questions people may have asked previously.

Do I need a referral?

No.  You do not need a referral to see us or to claim for private health insurance.  If you are making a WorkCover or a Department of Veterans Affairs claim then a Doctors referral is required.

Do you accept Workcover, Veterans Affairs or EPC patients?

Yes we do! If you are attending as one of these patients you will need to provide your referral and all necessary paperwork (which should be provided to you)! We are happy to help you with any other questions you might have if you call on 9982 6555.

What is an EPC claim?

EPC claims are offered to certain patients via their GP's. The referral includes up to a maximum of 5 visits per calender year, as governed by your GP.

Your normal consultation fees are due at the time of treatment, but you can claim back a set fee from Medicare. (We may be able to do this for you if you bring your medicare card).

How long are appointments?

Appointments are scheduled a minimum of 30 minutes apart.  We find that in the majority of cases that this is the most appropriate amount of time.  In more complex conditions or for multiple injuries longer appointments can be arranged. Sometimes we might be running late due to an emergency earlier on, and apologise in advance.

What are your payment terms?

Payment is to be made on the day of treatment.

You can utilise your private health fund (HICAPS) if you are covered for physiotherapy services, and just pay for the gap.

If you forget to bring your health-fund card payment will need to be made and claimed back by you independently.

If you have an approved claim for a WorkCover injury then we require your claim number prior to treatment, and will bill your insurance company directly and there will be nothing for you to pay.

Can I claim through my health fund?

Yes you can claim through the HICAPs system in our clinic. If you bring your private health insurance card you can swipe it and have the refund paid immediately, and you will only need to make the gap payment.

Very convenient for those will little time on their hands!

Is there a cancellation policy?

We would be very grateful if you could give us at least 12 hours notice, otherwise a cancellation fee may apply.

We understand that life throws obstacles in our path from time to time, so just give us a call to rearrange.

I forgot my appointment? Will I get charged a fee?

We understand mishaps can happen from time to time, but unfortunately an appointment unattended is a time another patient could have utilized, therefore a small fee may be charged.

Do I need to bring X-rays or medical notes with me?

Yes please!

Any investigations or scans you have previously had will be useful to help us understand your presentation better. If you don’t have anything then don’t worry just bring yourself.

Is there any parking available?

Yes! There is plenty of secure underground parking available for 2hours for visitors only.

Driveway is accessible via Fisher Road, Dee Why.

I have small children, can I bring them with me?

Certainly, we have plenty of toys and other exciting things to keep the kids occupied while you are in with the physiotherapist. (The hardest part will be getting them to leave!)
